Blue Cross Selected as Finalist in 2001 InnoVision Technology Awards Program
Columbia, SC – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Carolina is proud to announce that it has been selected as a finalist in the technology application category for the 2001 InnoVision Technology Awards program, an Upstate South Carolina awards program.
Blue Cross' entry was selected among 40 quality entries exemplifying innovative application, development and support of technological advancements in the Upstate. Blue Cross will be recognized at the 3rd Annual InnoVision Awards Dinner on November 6, 2001, at the Palmetto Expo Center, Greenville, S.C., and the winners will be announced at that time.
Blue Cross entered its Web site, SouthCarolinaBlues.com, citing the numerous customer service transactions available to policyholders and physician organizations through its secure My Insurance Manager. The company was the first in its industry nationwide to offer such extensive customer self-service on the Web with real time information.
"We are extremely pleased to receive this recognition from the InnoVision awards program and look forward to finding out if Blue Cross is selected a winner. We're especially proud that 58,000 members and more than 6,000 physician organizations are registered and using the secure My Insurance Manager on our Web site," said Terry Povey, director of web business development, market research and statistics.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Carolina is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. It covers more than 1.3 million people in South Carolina and has offices in the Upstate.
