Preferred Blue (PPO)

Preferred Blue® is a comprehensive major medical plan featuring the most extensive health care professional network in the state. When your accounts' employees visit providers in our network, they'll receive our highest level of benefits. Our health care providers file all claims for our members — and won't charge any more than our negotiated amount. If members want to venture outside our network, they can! We'll pay out-of-network services at a lower level of benefits.

Preferred Blue gives your accounts flexibility. They can choose from a wide variety of options:

  • Deductibles, copayments and out-of-pocket expenses.
  • My Health EssentialsSM preventive care packages.
  • Pharmacy Benefits Options:
    • Drug Card: The member pays a copayment at the drug store.
    • BlueRxSM: The member pays our discounted price at the pharmacy.
    • Mail Order: The member gets up to a 90-day supply for one copayment.
