Group Survey Calls

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina recently received clarification from the federal government about the health care reform law. This new information requires us to identify any of our covered groups that are sole proprietorships or any two-person groups in which the covered members were spouses as of December 31, 2011.

On Monday, May 14, we will begin calling all of our groups that we believe may fall into these categories to gather this information. If we cannot reach them by phone, we will send a follow-up email.

As we will explain to our customers, the information we are asking for will not affect their coverage, just how BlueCross complies with certain requirements of the law that apply differently to group markets and the individual market. Should customers call you with any questions or concerns, please reassure them and encourage them to respond to our request.
