New Group Submission and Renewal Guidelines

A side effect of the Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) provision is that we need to adjust our new group submission and group renewal process in order to comply with the SBC regulations. Those regulations require us, and our agents, to hit specific deadlines with the issuance of SBCs. We’ve listed the changes effective immediately.

New Group Submission
We must receive all information at least seven days prior to the effective date. If the benefits are not finalized by the deadline, the group will be effective on the next available effective date.

Benefit Changes
We must receive all benefit changes 15 days prior to the renewal date.

Special Enrollment (for participation audits only)
We will only grant special enrollment periods 30 days prior to the renewal date. We also must receive all applications at least seven days prior to the effective date.

Off-Anniversary Changes
We will only grant off-anniversary changes to groups at least 70 days prior to the effective date.
