This Is Not a Test; It’s an Attestation

March 31, 2011

Once again, we are asking for your help with getting attestation forms for all groups. While they may seem like one more piece of paper, they are more important than that. Timely submission of the attestation form helps your clients by allowing us to process benefit changes promptly and bill correctly.

Submitting the attestation form does not lock a group into a contribution rate. It simply tells us what the group was contributing toward employee premiums on March 23, 2010, and what they are contributing on the date they complete the attestation. We must have this information to determine if a group will lose its grandfathered status due to a change in the contribution level. Groups can submit the attestation form before making a final decision on benefit changes. However, a group must notify us if they change their contribution rate in the future.

Beginning immediately, we require a completed attestation form before we will process a rate concession or benefit change. We’re doing this to make sure each group receives an accurate bill. You, and the groups, receive the form 60 days before renewal. We believe this is enough time to complete the form.

We appreciate your help with this issue. Please contact your marketing representative with any questions.
