Over 65 Rate Change

Effective Oct. 1, 2011, we will be implementing a 1 to 3 percent rate increase for our Medicare Supplement members with effective dates prior to June 1, 2010. This change is related to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) increasing beneficiaries’ out-of-pocket costs in January. As Medicare deductibles increase each year, the Medicare Supplement plans cover the additional cost to the member.

Members with effective dates of June 1, 2010 and later are not affected and the selling rates currently in effect will remain the same.

We will notify the affected members of the change in rates this month.
