We are now using a new system to ensure that the private information of our members and your clients remains private. ProofPoint lets us send protected health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII) securely via email. Many of you are already familiar with ProofPoint; BlueChoice® HealthPlan uses it.
When you receive a secure email from BlueCross, follow the link to log into ProofPoint. The system will automatically use your email address as your username. You will provide a password and set up a security question. If you have already created a profile for BlueChoice®, you don’t have to create a new one for BlueCross. You can log in with the same username and password. Once logged in, you can reply or forward the message as needed.
If you use an Internet-based email system such as Gmail or Yahoo, you may experience problems. If you receive a secure email but cannot see or use the “Click to read message” button, click the “Download” link at the bottom of the message to open the file.
