Summary of Benefits and Coverage

Beginning Sept. 23, 2012, group health plans and health insurance issuers will issue a Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC). SBCs are standardized documents that follow a template prescribed by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Their purpose is to help consumers understand and compare health plans.
