Step Therapy Program Change

We are adding the new drugs Allegra Allergy, Allegra-D Allergy and Children's Allegra Allergy to the Step Therapy program as First Choice medications. All three drugs (and any store-brand versions of them) treat allergy symptoms. Allegra Allergy, Allegra-D Allergy and Children's Allegra Allergy are available over-the-counter in the same strengths previously available only with a prescription.

We will cover these over-the-counter medications for members who are subject to the Step Therapy program. With a doctor's prescription, members will pay their plan’s generic copayment or coinsurance (if applicable) for any Allegra Allergy products they receive.
