Drug Lists

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina pharmacy benefit plans use two main drug lists -- Preferred and Basic. An independent panel of doctors and pharmacists choose the drugs on each list based on their clinical value and cost-effectiveness. Most of our benefit plans use the BlueCross Preferred Drug List. Some plans are based on the Basic Drug List.  We also have a Specialty Drug list for specific drugs.
