Preferred Drug List Changes

On July 1, 2010 we will remove the brand-name drugs Advicor, Avandamet, Avandaryl and Avandia from the BlueCross Preferred Drug List. Beginning July 1, members with three or four-tier Drug Card plans who begin using any of these drugs will pay the non-preferred copayment or coinsurance for any prescriptions they receive. Members who used any of these drugs before July 1, 2010 will pay the preferred copayment or coinsurance for any prescriptions they receive through December 31, 2010. Members will never pay more than our discounted cost for their drugs, even if their copayment amounts are higher.
