Changes to Walmart Coverage

Effective January 1, 2010, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arkansas will become the Home Plan for all Walmart associates nationwide (except Hawaii). Walmart has also chosen New Directions as its behavioral health vendor beginning January 1, 2010.  On behalf of Walmart, New Directions administers behavioral health benefits. New Directions does not provide any BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina products or services. You can visit New Directions online at www.ndbh.com.
                                                 
Walmart associates must get pre-authorization for payment of behavioral health services rendered in facilities for both ambulatory and inpatient services. Behavioral health office visits will also need pre-authorization on the ninth visit per benefit year (which coincides with the calendar year).
 
The local PPO network will continue to be in-network for Walmart associates. New
Directions will not use its own networks.
