BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is changing the standard delivery method of both paper checks and remittance advices. Effective January 1, 2010, we will discontinue the use of paper. This will help create a greener environment and improve our mutual administrative workflows. 
 
We will work hard to make sure our transition to a paperless environment will have a minimal impact on you. Many of our providers are already Palmetto Paperless Providers. These providers currently access our Web sites to view and download the online remittance advices and payment information via My Insurance Manager^SM and My Remit Manager.
 
My Remit Manager lets you:

• Easily manage your electronic payments
• Receive notification of claims payment/denial information
• Search detailed HIPAA-compliant remittance advices for information by check number or date, patient’s name, member ID or patient account number across multiple remits
• Import your remittance advice into a portable data format (PDF) or Excel file to save for future reference
• Perform customized reporting
• Save administrative costs by eliminating manual paper processes
