Outpatient Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Services for Health Management Members Require Authorization

We are delivering this message on behalf of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Inc. (BCBSF). 
 
Effective February 1, 2012, outpatient advanced diagnostic imaging services for Health Management Associates (HMA) members enrolled in BCBSF PPO products will require precertification. These services include MRIs, MRAs, CT scans and PET scans.  

Getting Precertification

All BCBSF Health Management Associates PPO members receiving outpatient advanced diagnostic imaging services must request precertification by calling 888-376-6544. If they do not get precertification, the claim will deny. 

Identifying HMA Group Members

HMA group members are easy to identify. Look for an HHM alpha prefix in front of the member ID number.

BCBSF is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
