Birth Outcomes Initiatives Modifiers

In July 2011, the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) began partnering with organizations to reduce the number of low birth weight babies born in South Carolina.

Effective for dates of service on or after January 1, 2013, we will require you to append modifiers when you schedule an induction or a planned C-section for deliveries less than 39 weeks gestation.
