Important Update – Prior Authorization for DME & Home Health Services

June 4, 2026

Beginning Aug. 1, 2026, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina's collaboration with Integrated Home Care Services (IHCS) will support the prior authorizations for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and Home Health services for its small group and individual plans, including Affordable Care Act (Marketplace) plans. This applies to members with group number prefixes 61, 62, 64, and 65.

How to Submit Requests

Providers are encouraged to submit requests for these codes to IHCS using one of the following convenient electronic channels:

  • Hospital Discharge Planning Platforms: WellSky CarePort or CarePort
  • Provider Portals: Availity Essentials and Parachute Health

Alternative Submission Option

If your facility does not use any of the platforms listed above, please contact IHCS to arrange an alternative submission method.

You may also fax prescriptions, medical orders, or discharge documentation directly to IHCS at 844-215-4265.
