Health Care Reform and You

We’re here to help you understand health care reform. Based on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) guidelines, you may need to purchase a new health insurance plan. Current members will fall into two categories -- individuals and small business owners.

Individuals

  • Grandfathered Plans: If you purchased individual insurance on or before March 23, 2010, and have not made any changes to your plan. Learn more.
  • Non-Grandfathered Plans: If you purchased a policy after March 23, 2010, you will have two plan types:
  1. Trust-Product Plans: Insurance purchased between Oct. 1, 2010, and Dec. 15, 2013.
  2. Interim Non-Grandfathered Plans:  Insurance purchased with an effective date between April 1, 2010, and Sept. 15, 2010.
