Short-Term Health Plan Flu Vaccine Benefit Change

Blue TermSM Basic and Blue Term Short-Term health plans will no longer include a $0 flu vaccine benefit administered at a network pharmacy effective Jan. 1, 2020. Mailed notices have been sent to impacted members.

Blue Term Short-Term Basic (30/60/90 Day) plan members will be responsible for the cost of a flu shot after the first of the year. This applies if they get a flu shot at a pharmacy or doctor’s office. You can view a sample of the letter here.

Blue Term Short-Term (90/180/330 Day) plan members will be responsible for the cost of a flu shot given at a pharmacy only. Flu shots received in a doctor’s office will still be covered under an office visit copay, or subject to the deductible and coinsurance, depending on the plan.
