Vision

Vision plans are a low-cost benefit that add real value to your accounts. Our Healthy Vision plans help members save money on vision check-ups, eyeglasses or contacts for the whole family from a large network of national providers. Plans can be packaged with medical or dental coverage. We also offer separate vision discount programs.

Blue DentalSM

When your accounts add Blue Dental to their employee benefits plans, they’re demonstrating a commitment to whole-health care, because oral health affects overall health. Proper dental care, including regular cleanings, can limit inflammation, improve control of diabetes and potentially lower the risk of heart disease.

  • An array of options — Blue Dental plans are available on a dual option basis, providing a broad selection of benefits and affordability.

  • Comprehensive dental networks — Members choose from more than 4,400 access points in South Carolina and 312,000 nationally. Referrals aren’t required before a member sees a specialist.
  • Plans for all contribution levels — Our plans are available on either a true group or voluntary basis.
  • Integrated data capabilities — When you add Blue Dental to your BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina group health plan, we can connect data from medical and dental claims.

Members can use the Find a Dentist tool to help locate a dentist by name, facility, location or specialty.

Health and wellness

Health care doesn’t just happen at the doctor’s office. We offer innovative and engaging health and wellness programs your accounts can add to support their employees in making healthful choices in their daily lives — from digital platforms that make wellness fun to person-centered health coaching.

Examples include:

  • Health coaching for chronic conditions — Members can get condition-specific education and support for certain physical and mental health conditions.
  • Lifestyle health coaching — Wellness coaching helps members make behavioral changes, such as quitting smoking or managing stress, to improve overall well-being.
  • Essential Advocate® — Members can get concierge-level support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including a 24-hour nurse line.
  • Strive — This online platform makes getting and staying healthy fun, through gamification and virtual coaching customized to the individual.
  • Health incentive account (HIA) — An HIA can help you control costs by encouraging members to seek regular preventive care. Members are rewarded with deductible credits for completing activities, such as annual physicals or dental exams, and My Health NovelSM milestones.
