Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Short-Term Health Agent Appointments Temporarily Paused

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is temporarily pausing all agent appointments for ACA individual/family and short-term health products only, effective Dec. 27, 2021. 

The pause will remain in effect through the first quarter of 2022 as we realign systems and agent appointment agreements to ensure we are in compliance with the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) and its broker compensation disclosure requirements. 

Agents can still get appointed for Medicare, small and large group products. We will continue to process these appointments. 

Appointments for ACA individual/family and short-term heath products will be allowed beginning April 1, 2022. Agent transfers for all product lines will be allowed between April 1–Sept. 1, 2022.
