This month, CMS will automatically update APTCs as a result of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP) for those who shop on the Federally Facilitated Marketplace. This update will only occur for members who have not yet updated their applications as of August 2021. 

People who have declined an APTC in the past or who currently have a $0 premium will be omitted from this update.    

Billing

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina will be notified of members with premium changes this month. A member’s bill will reflect the new amount in the September or future bill depending on when we are notified. If the changes do not make the September billing cycle, then a credit for the reduced premium amount along with their new premium will be on the next bill.
