To help with the individual coverage health reimbursement arrangement (ICHRA) renewal process, here is a checklist of tasks and action items you need to complete.

EARLY OCT.

  • You will receive a list of your current ICHRA groups from your sales representative.
  • Reach out to your groups to confirm their decision to offer ICHRA in 2024.
  • Make sure each of your ICHRA groups shares the 90-day notice with their employees.

MID-OCT.

  • Use the renewal file to update the census for each of your groups. You can find more information on the renewal file at the bottom of this email.

LATE OCT.
Send the updated census with all changes (additional employees, termed employees and contributions changes) for each group to ICHRAUW@bcbssc.com

NOV. 1.

  • Receive affordability calculations back from Underwriting.
  • Share this information with the group to adjust contributions and plans for members if needed.

NOV. 1 - DEC. 11

  • Enroll or renew members in individual and family plans.

DEC. 15

  • Group leaders will receive updated premium grids. Please review and approve draft changes.
  • If the group elects to make any changes (contribution, census, etc.), submit the necessary paperwork to Enrollment.AccrueHealth@bcbssc.com
  • If the group elects to make no changes, send an email to Enrollment.AccrueHealth@bcbssc.com stating there are no changes to the ICHRA.

Renewal File Information
You will use the renewal file to populate the different fields in the census. Renewal files will list current individual members and their demographic information, the groups they belong to, their 2024 premium amounts and their current plan information. This is the information you will pull to complete the census.

Renewal files will be distributed mid-Oct. to agents. This will come from your individual marketing representative.

If you have any questions, contact your sales representative.
