ACA Special Enrollment Periods

Special Enrollment periods (SEPs) allow a consumer to enroll in an annual health plan outside the annual Open Enrollment Period. You may have a client that is experiencing a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) that would allow them to get coverage outside of OEP. The most common ones are loss of coverage and loss of reduction of an Advanced Premium Tax Credit (APTC) to an existing ACA plan.
