Dental Plan

If your insurance plan includes dental coverage, this coverage is separate from your health plan. It has its own deductible and cost share structure.

Most dental plans help pay for services such as:

  • Routine cleanings and exams
  • Dental X-rays
  • Fillings and crowns
  • Root canals

Some plans even include coverage for specialty services, such as braces.

How dental coverage may vary

Dental coverage often has a yearly limit on how much the plan will pay for covered services. Your cost share may vary depending on the type of service. For instance, you may need to pay a larger percentage of the cost for a crown than for a filling.

Other requirements and limitations may also apply.
