Open Enrollment has ended, but you may still have options if you’ve experienced a qualifying life event.
Here are the qualifying life events that trigger a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) for Individual and Family plans with BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. You typically have 60 days from the event to enroll:
- Getting married or divorced
- Having or adopting a child (or placement in foster care)
- Moving to a new coverage area (new ZIP code or county)
- Becoming a U.S. citizen
- Losing other health coverage — for example:
- Job loss
- Change in eligibility for Medicaid or CHIP
- COBRA coverage expiring
