When we think about health, most of us think physical health. While it’s important to take care of your body, your mental health is just as important. In fact, your mental health and physical health are interconnected.

According the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)*, mental illness such as depression can increase your risk for health conditions such as:

  • Heart disease

Likewise, having a chronic health condition can increase your risk for mental illness.

The CDC estimates that one in five Americans will experience mental illness in given year. And more than half of Americans will be diagnosed with a mental illness or disorder at some point in their lives.
